Cruising Toronto Harbour with Miss World Canada Pageant
Velago Patio Furniture was onboard the Mariposa Cruises charter vessel, The Oriole on Wednesday July 19th, when fifty-seven remarkable young females, ages 19-25, contestants in the 2017 Search for Miss World Canada, went cruising the Toronto harbour. They blogged their whole adventure and in that story spectacle you can spot the Velago brand patio furniture very prominently displayed on deck.
We sponsored the #VelagoSofaSelfie challenge on Instagram which centered on, and offered up as prize, a lightweight Outdoor Sofa Set Model Lugano. This model was unique – the pillows were specially decorated with blue and white fabric logos from both Velago and Miss World Canada.
Fifty seven regional delegates, each seeking a jewel encrusted faux silver crown that represents perfection in the eyes of nine judges, stepped about Mariposa Cruises’ charter vessel Oriole at approximately twelve noon for a one-hour cruise.
These young people had already enjoyed a very busy day; they had just come from Ripley’s Aquarium and before that they were showcased on Breakfast Television’s July 17, 2017 show.

Sourced from all over the nation and wearing silver crowns and sashes marking their province-of-origin, the young Regional Delegates were understandably excited at the prospect of winning outdoor patio furniture simply by spending time together on our sofa in such a cute little sailing vessel as the Oriole.
#VelagoSofaSelfie asked participants to take their best selfie with the city of Toronto in the background.
The winner was selected later in the week and received a $600 voucher so they could upgrade and purchase the Marsala set, or get the Lugano sofa delivered in their hometown, no matter where they lived, anywhere in Canada.
