When you are investing in your outdoor space, it is important to choose high quality pieces if you want them to last for any length of time. But that doesn’t mean that every item has to be pricey. You don’t have to break the bank or spend a fortune on getting your space just the way you want it.
Even if you still want to invest in that signature piece, there are still other ways you can upgrade your space, and keep your budget completely under control. Here are some budget-friendly items to make your backyard look like it came right out of magazine. Like this wonderful, affordable conversation set from Velago:
Use the Walls
Most gardens focus on ground space, but if you have fence you can use the space on the walls the fence creates to decorate your space. By placing flower beds or some hanging plants you can create a very colourful backdrop to your already beautiful space. You could also put some of these flowerbeds to good use and plant a small herb garden in a couple of them. Some flowers do attract certain kinds of bugs, though, so you will want to select the plants selected carefully to ensure you can still enjoy your outdoor space after the flowers are planted.
Install a Fountain
When you’re outside you will likely enjoy the sounds of birds chirping, but a fountain in your backyard can add a very peaceful and calming element to the environment. Fountains can be large, ornamental pieces or they can be very small additions placed in a corner of your yard. If you have a large wall space, you could even consider a waterfall fountain option to complete your backyard oasis.
Put Those All Christmas Lights to Use
By hanging strands of Christmas lights in the backyard you can add a lot to your outdoor space. These lights aren’t as bright as spotlights, or the lights on the outside of your house, but they will light up your patio or deck when it starts to get dark at night so you can continue your BBQ party light into the night. These strands can be hung on any cover, like a gazebo, or they could be strung along the top of a fence. These lights will definitely make your backyard look polished and really put together.
Get Some Colourful Throw Pillows
There is very little that pulls together a space like colourful pillows. With some great outdoor furniture, you can find some inexpensive pillows at almost any home décor store or, if you’re crafty, you can find some really great fabric and make your own pillows to add a custom touch to your space.
With a few updates to your space, and maybe a quick trip to your local home improvement store, you can take your backyard space up to a whole new level. With a few new pieces, and maybe even re-purposing some old items sitting around your house you can have a brand new, high-end backyard in one Saturday afternoon.
Lovely just what I was looking for. Thanks to the author for taking his clock time on this one.
