My youngest child is my outdoor sofa hero.When she was 10,we moved to a house on a 1/3 actre lot.We were hard pressed just to keep up with the grass,but she dearly wanted a garden of her own.We talked and planned for days,while she choose what she wanted to plant.I encouraged her to sweet peas and other hardy plants.She agreed to the sweet peas,and I agreed to sunflowers,peppers,and tomatos.Preparing her patch was a weekend long effort.I was so proud of her work ethic and determination as we hand dug a space about 10 x 14.We amended the soil,retilled,and leveled it.We planted it and I went in to start supper.I found her fast asleep on the hamock outside.It was so cute,I took her picture.The sound of the shutter woke her up.Being in a hamock,she took a tumble,but was not seriously hurt.If we had a lovely set like this,I think any of us would be hard to rouse.

Feel asleep on the outdoor sofa when it started to rain. My friends moved the sofa with me sleeping on it, under the awning. When I woke up, I was completely surprised being in a different location!
The last time I hung out on the patio was with my boyfriend, last weekend – it was the first time this year it was really warm enough to hang out on the deck. We don’t yet have patio furniture, so we just sat on the steps, but it was still fabulous to just soak in the sunlight. Good times!
The outdoor furniture we presently have is only 20 years old, repainted I don’t know how many times, it would be great to win this contest and replace it and not worry about sitting down and going through the bottom.

I remember when I was young my parents bought this terrible, cheap patio set. They couldn’t afford nice furniture at the time. This set was actually their indoor dinner table too for a while.
We were all sitting in the backyard with my Rottweiler. We put his leash underneath the foot of the patio chair. He saw something and rushed towards it. My mom was sitting on the chair and was sent flying and broke the chair into a million pieces! She screamed “that’s it!!!! We are getting nice patio furniture!” And we did. That’s why I’m so picky about the patio furniture I buy now haha
For my grandparent’s wedding anniversary several years ago, the whole family was gathered on the patio and my uncle, who was getting a little drunk, decided to take the strawberry shortcake and slam it in my grandmother’s face (cream pie gag). It was hilarious.

ONE DAY WHEN I WAS OUTSIDE SITTING ON MY DECK, A TINY DOG WAS OUTSIDE MY FENCE BARKING FOR ABOUT 20 MINTUES AND I COULD NOT FIGURE OUT WHY BUT THEN I REALIZED THAT HE WAS BARKING AT THE 4 FT STATUE GOLDEN LAB DOG THAT I HAVE ON MY PATIO THAT DOES LOOK QUITE REAL.
I’ve told this story too many times; but it actually did go down; and everyone gets a kick out it. When I rented my first apartment on the first floor; I put 2 steaks on a cheap, little hibatchi. It was sitting right on the outer edge; with a railing that had an eight inch gap; as it didn’t go all the way down to the patio floor. It smelled divine; and therein lies the kicker, I feel, as when I went back out onto the deck to turn my two rib eye steaks over; they had vanished! ….I hope medium rare; or’pleasantly’ pink, as I like to call it, was to the gourmet thief’s liking! The next night at dinner time; I sat two potatoes in the same spot. Alas, no takers!

We have a pie-shape backyard and have had many parties there – baby shower, birthday parties for my grandson and a Father’s Day Bar-b-q for family and friends.

Years ago, I took my mother on a short but grueling hike to a waterfall near my house. When we got back, I got us out a nice cold drink. After I gave Mom hers, I went to sit down on an older fabric deck chair. As I sat down, the fabric ripped, and the chair folded over me like a clam shell. When I was 16 and at my friends cottage, we spotted a black bear actually lying on his patio couch. Needless to say, we did not approach that couch until well after the bear had finished his “nap” and had left the premises.
Not really a patio experience but one time while visiting Hull in the UK…after a night out with friends at a local pub and while walking down a hill in town…my friends and I were passed by a couch on wheels…on fire…
Backyard Robber. Our house caught on fire. Long story after fired was put out by fireman, we went on to the deck to get some air. Windows were blown out and our stuff was thrown outside of the window area into the backyard and landing mostly on our outdoor sofa. There was a sound coming from the backyard It sounding like someone walking on the glass. We thought, first we have a fire, now we are being robed. Slowly, we tiptoed towards the backyard (note: husband is tiptoeing behind me). Just as I go to turn the corner of the deck to see who is robbing us in the backyard, a skunk jumps off the sofa about a foot into the air as did I. We were being robed by a skunk. Needless to say the sofa never smelled the same after that Not something I will not soon forget. Ps everyone was fine and made it out of the fire. THe sofa sadly was never useable again. jml.

My most memorable patio experience was when I told my hubby I was pregnant with our 1st child. We were out for dinner at a fave restaurant & we were sitting on the patio. The last time I was on the patio, I was actually taking down Christmas lights and washing windows. Nothing too exciting. I plan to sit out and watch the boats go by as soon as I have a spare minute.
I remembered I love to sit and relax on the outdoor couch of my friend. I don`t have one.
My father-in-law had a favourite patio sofa situated right against the shed facing the road. It was the perfect spot because friends and visitors would stop to chat and catch up on local news. Too bad one of the grandkids got a little wreckless and ran over the sofa, smashing it beyond repair. The father-in-law is no longer with us but I still see him sitting in the sun chatting with whomever passed by.

The last time I was on a patio it was the one I built. It was for my uncle. afterwards dinner and drinks.
Last time I had a get together on a patio was Mother’s Day. 6 of us adults wined and dined for several hours under the sun. I remember a lot of laughter and good food… It’s a bit of a blur. But it was entertaining to piece together the evenings events as I washed and cleaned for 4 straight hours the following morning!

I was roasting a chicken on barbeque sitting on a can of beer. When I lifted the lid to see if it was cooked the chicen flew off across the deck. I did not realize the beer should of been half full instead it was full and the pressure blew the chicken off. It was very funny to see except it scared me when I saw the chicken shoot off.

Did you know that having the right outdoor furniture can improve your marriage? we were at someone’s outdoor barbecue event and our friends who’ve been married as long as we have, settled together upon a loveseat. No sooner were they comfortable then they began to take turns to drink wine and rub each other’s feet in a most romantic way… my husband and i watched with our mouths open… this outdoor furniture was the answer! So we got a rattan loveseat with a comfy cusioning and now occasionally spend some private time with a roaring fire and one another. Yes, outdoor furniture really can create a “mood”. I want a very comfortable outdoor sofa to recreate those moments and keep our marriage very strong!
A memorable patio experience of mine was when I was out visiting Banff, I was on the patio of my hotel staring up at the mountains and the stars.

The outdoor sofa hero is NOT my puppy. I came home one day to find that he had decided to chew the inside our our outdoor chair cushion from the bottom. Don’t ask me how he unzipped the the cushion to expose the inside stuffing, but the outer material was untouched, and just the cushion insides were pulled out and chewed. I need some new outside furniture now.
We have a great sized backyard for backyard fun with friends and family, with late night chats outside on some comfy furniture with good eats, and drinks!
Last Time I was on a Patio was when my friend and I when out for some girly drinks and chatted the night away. Its’ been awhile but I still remember how much fun we had!

I was sitting on a patio couch at a family get-together with my arm over the back. My little 4 year old grandson started flicking the ‘drape’ which older women get below their arms. He sweetly asked me what that was and I told him ‘batwings’. His face lit up and he asked me (again, too sweetly to get upset), “Have you ever tried them out and can you really fly with them?”
I sat on a patio sofa at a family party. My 4year old grandson sat beside me and started flicking the lower-part of my arm (draped across the back of the sofa). He sweetly asked, “What is that jelly stuff”. I blithely replied, “Batwings”, but didn’t expect him to respond “Wow, do they work? Can you really fly?” Still, (in spite?) I still would love to buy one to sit with him in his backyard!

My elder sister is the Sofa Hero. For my July birthday, she gave me a backyard fireplace, a box of wood, some kindling, a lighter and newspaper, a bag of chips and a 6 pack of beer – a complete party! What a wonderfully thought out present!
The last time we were on our patio was at the lake last week and we had a barbeque with our family for mu husband’s birthday. It was great, but we need new outdoor furniture – thank you!
I remeber the LAst time , we had our dog marley with us, he was the best dog kid s loved him! he used to jump at the sofa an d take long naps (kids beside)! Our Marley is the best memory

I was sitting on my patio when I heard a commotion coming from my chicken coop in the far right corner of my property. I grabbed a pot and pan and sure enough there was a bear heading towards my chickens. I banged pot and pan together making a lot of noise and the bear stood up looked over at me and ran away. Out of the corner of my eye I saw another bear on the left side of the property running as fast as he could away from the noise. There was alot of bears around due to many forest fires burning in the vicinity. I put away the pot and pan and went back to relaxing on my patio
don’t have a patio..but did have nice dinner an drinks at my daughters house on her lovely patio..but sure could use some new outdoor furniture there..

We have been working on the landscaping of our patio for years. Its finally come together. I can’t be more proud of how far we have come, and how much further we can go with it: planting, renovating, optimizing, etc

moi mon patio est sous mon abri d’auto car il fait extrêmement chaud sur le patio directement. Il faudrait qu’il soit aménagé d’un toit et de ce beau sofa. Mon petit-fils aime bien faire des pique-niques à l’extérieur

So I sat on my patio once but then I realized I did not in fact have a patio; I had a bunch of dirt. So I sat there in my lawn chair on top of dirt looking at my wooden fence. At least I have a fence.
We do a ton of fire pit get-togethers over the summer and one of the last we did last year we didn’t clean up afterwards and thought it would be easy enough to do in the morning. It was late – we were tired and what could happen -right! I woke at 5:00 am to a crazy raccoon fight outside my window. Sure enough outside on the patio were 9 – yes 9 – raccoons fighting over a single marshmallow that was left on the deck. It was hilarious even at that time of the morning!
Last time I was on a patio we (my girlfriends and I) were having drinks, laughing and reminiscing…well the hot sun was behind the clouds and gave most of us quite a burn as we discovered later on that evening.
My boyfriend and I were just on the patio last night enjoying a BBQ and a glass of wine – very relaxing!

The last time I was on a patio was at an open house. We put an offer in and now the house is ours.
My husband is my Outdoor Sofa Hero. I suffer allergies in the Spring, yet I love a beautiful colourful garden to relax in all summer. He pulls the weeds, plants the flowers and makes sure they are all grow nice and bright. We spend our summer days and nights relaxing watching the kids play in the yard and enjoying the beautiful gardens!
The weather in Vancouver has been amazing lately and so we were on our patio for a family dinner of sushi and white wine just last night! All 4 siblings came over and just laughed and enjoyed the sunshine and food together!

I recently was on a patio for one of our families birthdays to celebrate and enjoy each other’s company.

I was just on the patio this morning eating croissants with Dulce de Leche and drinking an Argentine tea called “mate” with my husband. We were talking about God and our guardian angel and the archangels and how awesome it feels to be surrounded with trees, flowers and birds.
Love to have friends and family for BBQ’s on the patio. We have a dining style set but not a couch to chill on after the bbq!

we have had several parties on our patio. birthdays parties for my grandson, late father, or just invite the family over for a barbecue.
We were on our patio this weekend with family. However, I would love to go to a restaurant and eat out on the patio.
The last time we had a party in our backyard was for my “grandtoy’s” baby shower – we had several friends and family there for Mackenzie’s party. Only had lawn chairs and a sofa would have been very nice.
The last time we were out on the patio we had a big BBQ . It was a fun time with family and friends.

The most memorable experience was having the Christening of my grandson on our patio/deck at the cottage. It was so peaceful and inspiring. Birds were singing, sun was shining and the water sparkled. Never forget it.
We spend lots of time on the patio around the fire pint in the summer with friends…enjoying a beverage, a soak in the hot tub, playing yard games and just relaxing together. We moved a 3 years ago and miss them a lot!
We all celebrated my husband’s birthday on the deck having a great barbeque and birthday cake at the lake!
My outdoor heros are my two grandchildren, Shaylyn & Cameron. Cameron, who is 5, delights in his Nannie(me)taking him on lengthy adventures in the woods. We even found an old tree stump which he uses as his horse, whom he named Zelto! He is an amazing child! When we return to the house, we are both tired and ready to relax, but alas, we do not have a comfy couch for the patio, just two chairs. It would be wonderful to win a $500 voucher on patio furniture by Velago! I would use it towards buying the beautiful CREMA couch so Cameron, Shaylyn & Nannie would have a comfy place to relax, thus making Velago our outdoor hero!!!

Presently our patio is cracked and uneven cement…it looks very ugly and old. I am very excited to say that we have a company booked to resurface it with ground recycled tire. From the pictures of other customers’ projects it promises to be a vast improvement. I am very excited!

My boyfriend and I just purchased our first home. We knew we wanted a patio for outdoor living and entertaining since we lived in an apartment with no outdoor space for some time. After much searching, we finally found a home with an amazing deck. Hoping to spend as much time out on patio as we can this summer!
The last time i was on a patio I was reading “the secret”, while watching my 3 children play in the sprinkler and enjoy the sun!
At one point we had one chesterfield and a regular patio lounge chair on our Outdoor Sofa. we had a large family gathering, and my father, at the time 95 years old shared the soft chesterfield with my son’s 90 year old grandfather-in-law. The youngest child there was 2. We had an amazing day of fun and food, and stories I believe the two old gentlemen were “The Outdoor Sofa Heros”.
My daughter had to wait 7 years for her backyard to play in. We didn’t have a fence and couldn’t afford to put one in. Finally last year she got her yard to play in and now happily goes out everyday that she can to play.

I love sitting out on my covered stone porch with my dogs at least once a day. It’s an extra room for three seasons and provides tranquility for me, the dogs and the birds nesting there. I’ve dozed off out there a few times over the years. Porch naps are the best. Ceveryone is welcome on the porch.
We have no outside furniture but we go out and lay on a blanket and watch and listen to the birds. Its so peaceful
I believe myself to a fan of the sun and heat on my patio, others sit in the shade but not me. My girlfriend was coming for the weekend and she mentioned that she does not take the heat
well. So we are outside for the weekend pretty much. The first night I am cold and putting on warmer clothes to sit out on the patio.
The next day we are again on the patio. She is loving the breeze and the heat.
And I was finding the heat and breeze too much, two times I made the move to the shade.My thought after that weekend was: everyone has their own heat tolerance. I am so glad there is Sun and Shade on my patio!
My Outdoor Sofa Hero story begins with an active, always bouncing around three year old little girl every night at dinner. One day her Mommy (me) decided to try eating dinner outside on the deck and the whole family lived and ate dinner Happily Ever After since she actually sat down for 10 minutes. The End 🙂
My hubby is my outdoor hero, we sat and watched the hummingbirds at their feeder while sipping our morning coffee.
Hmm, I am drawing a blank on the Outdoor Sofa Hero. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a sofa outdoors except one that’s at the side of the curb for spring cleaning. 😉
But I’m sure I can tell you a memorable patio story. Hmmm . . . Ok, here’s one off the top of my head: a few years ago, I was washing the bathroom, and I think I ended up unknowingly creating some kinda toxic gas from all the different mixtures of cleaners I was using. I felt pretty faint and sick afterwards, so I ran out onto the patio to get some fresh air. The thing is: it’s winter. So I’m out sitting on my patio chair in the frost, snow, and subzero temperature. And . . surprisingly, it’s not that bad. I was out there for 5 minutes, relaxing.
Finally, after I felt better, I came back indoors, saying, “Mom, you won’t believe this, but sitting out in the cold was actually . . .” And suddenly, for whatever reason, the cold finally caught up to me and I rushed into my bedroom to get under a blanket. 😛
The last time I was out on the deck was to watch my grandson in his swimming pool. It was relaxing out on the deck while he got rid of some energy.

A lot of summer memories came from spending time with family and friends on our backyard patio. Bonfires, BBQ’s and quiet summer evenings.

Our patio is becoming an attraction in the neighborhood. The patio sits in a large flower garden at the front of the house near the street. People going by (whether walking, biking or driving) will stop to take a look and enjoy the garden. We invite them for a quick tour of the flower garden and a short break to their day by sitting at the patio. Indeed our patio is becoming a living part of the neighborhood.

I am because after my day of work when I get to the trailer I love to relax with a nice cup of coffee and talk with my husband. Unfortunately on June 23rd there was a storm and I can not longer do that because a tree fell on my shed, trailer awning and furniture so getting a new one would be great.

Everyear we celebarte my birthday in July and we always end up on the patio with un bunch of chairs that don’t much for everyone, we drink laugh and have à great time! A simple evening to celebrate a friend’s birthday. It was a large gathering with BBQ’d salmon and pot luck dishes. A pianist on the back lawn added to the festivities. Lots of conversation, laughter, and later, dancing.
