The last time I was on a patio was our big family BBQ party.
We had a BBQ birthday party and we could not start up the BBQ, it was very embarrassing, the only option we could think of at that moment and panic to take the whole crowd (25 people) to the nearest restaurant. All that food and preparation went for nothing.
A gorgeous hot sunny day, friends on the patio sipping on cool drinks & great conversation flowing! We’re celebrating my 60 birthday! I’m grilling hot dogs & hamburgers, the delicious aroma wafting through the air & making us eager to chow down! Well my patio set was old, weather beaten & worn, but I figured I could get another season out of it! Deciding to take a chef’s break, I sat down on a chair & imagine my surprise when it collapsed under my weight & flattened me to the deck floor on my butt! I was so embarrassed & my guests concerned rushed over to help me!I was aghast!. I simply had to make light of the situation & my flippant joke was‘good thing I had a lot of padding’to land on! I started to laugh! My friends followed suit & the moment passed. We continued to a fun barbecue! That day I vowed I would lose weight & get a new patio set! This has not yet happened, but I make sure I gingerly sit on the remaining chairs, hoping they do not spring out of action & deliver me to the floor once again!
One of my favourite patio memories is playing “catch phrase” with a huge group of people for my husband’s birthday party! So many laughs!!
On the patio, we were almost finished our meal a the picnic table that had an umbrella in the middle. The wind caught the umbrella & the table started to tip over. We took turns holding it down until we finished our meal.
My best patio experiences have been with my family in the Shuswap. Either eating at our favourite lakeside restaurant, Fins, which had now burnt to the ground or while sitting on my parents summer home while watching the sun set. The Shuswap is my home away from home and has been a family vacation spot for over twenty years, which started with camping as a child and now is less rustic in the comfort of my parents new house.
well this was a few years ago we were sitting on our patio we had redwood patio furniture my kids decided to have a water fight with my cousin who happens to be a big person she had on this white and polka dot short set well they decided to run around like idiots and she ended up falling and breaking my good patio chair mow how hard is it to do something like that? well believe me this was the first time i have ever seen a grown woman break a solid patio redwood chair in my life since then i have not bought a new set because of her because i’m afraid she might break a new set but i would love a new one (this one is good for a laugh i hope you enjoy reading this.
I love having breakfast on the weekend on my patio, it’s my little urban oasis.
the latest memory on our patio was at my nieces birthday. she is 12. i made her a fake cake, made with ballons and whip cream. when she was supposed to cut in it should have exploded. She perfectly cut in between each ballon that nothing popped. We all had a good laugh at how our trick backfired on us!
My son, myself and our dog and cat spend most of the summer outside. If we had nice patio furniture maybe the wife would come out too.
I was entertaining co-workers after a job well done. The location was on the deck at my home.
I told them the next job was to repair to rot in said deck and warned them to be careful about the holes.
You guessed right; I was the only one whose chair went through the deck and I had a nice gentle spill.
No one was hurt, but I was the laugh of the night for quite a while after.
We had a family reunion and almost everyone ended up on the patio. We got some great family pictures.
Here is my memory of a barbeque dinner my boyfriend and I hosted on our patio last summer –
– I bought all the food
– I made all the salads, side dishes and dessert
– I marinated and seasoned the steaks
– I set the table
– My boyfriend placed the steaks on the grill
– I reminded him to turn the steaks
– I reminded him to take the steaks off the grill
– The meal was delicious
– I cleared the table and cleaned up
– Our barbeque dinner was a success
– To this day my boyfriend thinks there is nothing to preparing a barbeque for 10 people. Arrrgh!
My friend and I were having “patio drinks” one afternoon and I totally forgot that I was wearing my work pager. Just I was about to take a sip of my drink the darn thing went off on vibrate. It shocked me so much that I jumped up and threw my drink on the table next to us (unintentionally). I cannot apologize enough to the guy that I drenched and was completely embarrassed – my friend thought it was quite funny though!
the last time we had a BBQ in the patio that we were so into our conversation that we forgot about the bbq that it most of the food god burned . ended up ordering pizza to feed us all lol .

Some friends of ours decided to have a winter BBQ. It wasn’t snowing or raining at the time but the temperatures were just below zero. We were just on our way home when I slipped on the frost that had formed on the stairs and landed on my butt about half way down. After the initial “are you ok?” remarks we had a good laugh. Needless to say they have not had another winter BBQ!
One of my favorite patio moments was relaxing on my deck one sunny morning with my now husband. We hadn’t been dating long but it was so relaxing sitting there that I knew he was a keeper.
Our patio is our favorite place to read in the summer. My husband and I enjoy sitting outside, being together and the peace of our patio.
My favourite patio memory is hosting our ball team one evening. We had barbecue and had rented a hot tub. It was a great time
My most memorable patio experience was just this passed long weekend. Family and friends gathered round the built in fire pit to enjoy some guitar playing and singing. We barbequed, lantern lit hot tubbed, shared some laughs and some drinks. If only we had some nice patio furniture to go along with it all, that would make for many more enjoyable evenings.
Unfortunately I don’t have any funny patio stories, but the last time I was on a patio was at a restaurant with friends on a beautiful sunny day
I had a beautiful glass patio table with 6 matching chairs that was very hard to find. It was a gorgeous table until my 250lb English Mastiff used it as his personal look out tower to watch our yard!
The last time I was on a patio was for a friend’s baby shower backyard BBQ.
“BEAUTIFUL”
I love to sit on my deck and just dream, bout beautiful days,a cool drink,a bbq,a under a really beautiful patio umbrella, and sitting on really nice patio furniture!!!!!!!!!!
My favorite and best time on our patio was last New Year when my husband and I babysat our 3 grandchildren, who were 9,7,and 2.We celebrated bring in the new year with them by all going in the hot tub. They were so excited because they could see all the stars and they could see their breathe but it was so warm in the tub. Then it was time to get out and we all ran in the house and had hot chocolate .What a nite!
Every Thanksgiving weekend we have a family reunion and one of the highlights is bbq and dinner on the patio.
