It was a happy day when I picked up the black resin wicker patio set at the warehouse. The sun was shining, temperatures warming up and everyone getting in summer mode. We have had the set now for a few months and I thought I could share my insights.
Setting up was easy, all 4 pieces of the sectional as well as the coffee table come fully assembled. I only had to figure out, which way I want the sofa to face for an optimal lounge experience. More truthfully, my wife figured that one out for me. Thanks, love you hon’! Once done, I attached the clips at the bottom of the frame, so the individual pieces don’t move around with people getting up and down. I also did some minor height adjustments with the adjustable foot pegs to make sure the couch sections line up nicely.
We chose the Sano for two reasons: The individual sections make it easy to switch things around if needed, making the set versatile. My wife was especially drawn to the led grey cushion colour. Not only do they look super sharp, they are much more forgiving considering there are 2 boys in the household. Heavy duty use guaranteed!
So far, we had a blood stain, sun screen smudge and a couple other minor spots. The water repellent coating works well, and liquid pearls off beautifully. The stains came out in the washer. Removable covers with zippers made the process simple.
I was curious to see if the cushions showed signs of discoloration after a while, but nothing so far. I have to say though, we take great care of them. When not in use, we cover the sofa with the matching outdoor furniture cover for the Sano. If we don’t plan on using it for a few days, we take the cushions inside, otherwise cover them together with the whole patio set.
With heavy rain, water can pool on top of the cover, see photo. I smartened up and now set up the pieces in a way that allows rain water to run off to the side. The pooling of water is not a biggie. All it does is seep through where pieces are touching the cover, leaving some cushions wet. If that happens, I stand them up to allow them to air dry, which was fairly quick.
We still love the set like on the first day. Our visitors cannot help but express their enjoyment of our Sano sectional outdoor sofa every single time.
