Last spring, we were on the backyard patio enjoying the first warm weekend when a rabbit suddenly popped out of of a hole in the lawn. The dog went wild and chased the rabbit out of the yard. Upon closer inspection of the hole, it turns out there were 4 baby bunnies hidden inside. We promptly made our backyard off limits for the next two weeks until the bunnies finally left their nest.
My whole family was hanging out in the summer of ’11, and since we don’t have that many seats, we brought out the plastic Muskoka chairs. My uncle decided it would be funny if he came and toppled everybody over, not realizing that he would break each chair in the process! We still talk about it today, and laugh about how he woke up early the next morning, drove into town and bought replacement chairs!
My sister was sitting on our deck, it was very sunny, I tried to help and I brought the sun umbrella that goes in the middle of the glass table, the umbrella slipped and hit the glass table causing the glass to shatter into 10 million pieces, it was one heck of an experience.

One of the most memorable patio times was last summer, when I had 15 seniors from the care home come for a visit. We had the misting fan going, wind chimes, pretty tablecloth and dishes, did BBQ hamburgers and hot dogs, and for dessert, homemade banana splits! They still talk about how much fun it was to come visit… They want to make it an annual event!
I proposed to my wife on our hotel suites patio in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. Sitting on the comphy love seat was so nice we fell asleep on the loveseat right after the proposal.
I love reading on my patio in the Summer so much so that I pull a lamp through the window after it gets dark.
Our current house doesn’t have a deck or patio. We just bought a new house and move in this June. It has a very large patio that we’re very excited about. But, we need patio furniture to go on it.
Several years ago my sister built me a bent willow chair which I placed in my rose garden. One afternoon I decided to sit in the chair and read. However the legs were perhaps not designed to sit as squarely as a chair should be and the chair went over backwards into a rosebush. Unfortunately it managed to catch itself in the rosebush in a position to make it impossible for me to get out of the chair. It took quite some time to get an elderly neighbour to finally hear me and manage after much inept mauuvering to get me out.
I had just bought some chairs they we rent really patio chairs but at the time i only had money for lawn chairs around my patio table I was dating a guy that sat down and he went right through the chair it was brand new I didnt know whether to laugh or be upset thank god he was alright he actually came up laughing rubbing his backside Ill never forget and i was so embarrassed after that as well
Needless to say I took it right back to the store the next day soo embarrassing as it was brand new and all that day
One summer evening after having a barbecue with a few friends, we hung outside on the patio. Still new to smoking cigars we had our hands on a couple of Cubans. Quickly reaching the label of the roach and enjoying the cigars a little too much I noticed I could peel off the label. I continued to smoke it until you needed tweezers to hold it, never again. I was sick to my stomach. Good times and still talk about it.

May 2005…sitting on my deck reading, when I got the call…our adoption had been approved. That deck saw tears of dispair to tears of joy 🙂
When we sit outside for dinner we always have guests arriving! Now those guests are the local raccoons, who sit up in the tree and look down on us while we are enjoying our meal! Now if we don’t see them, we worry about where they are!
I enjoy having family and friends over for barbecues in the summer on a large patio. It has left me with many great memories.
2 years ago a storm came up quickly ,we made a run for it to get in the house ,just in time to see our patio furniture blow away and the glass table in million pieces ,we had to clean up with a chopvac

Once at a old patio I was leaning on the railing that was rotting and it collasped and I fell down.

We love getting our family together, with a BBQ on the patio. We all live a little way from each other and this brings us together to enjoy each others company, food and talk.

The only time that the whole family can get together in the summer is at our annual BBQ. I great time is always had by all!

we all gathered at my brother in law to celebrate my husband parents 25th anniverrsay..the evening went on and someputing put on cd of great canadain songs from the 70s..we all began singing…then dancing..next thing we knew we all were on the ground as the patio collasped
This will look great along side my new landscaped yard.
We hold many happy hours on our patio/deck in Sundre, Alberta, where we have our RV. Last summer, many “fish tales” were told. My husband and a good friend of ours went on a fishing trip that I won two years ago. I wonder what this summer’s discussions will focus on? One thing I know for sure — way too many laughs will be had by all.

My parents loved to entertain and loved to barbecue, so even in winter they would invite people over for a barbecue. In winter they moved the patio furniture under the carport, so itwasn’t unusual to find them with a group of friends huddled in a snowstorm, dressed in parkas, enjoying an afternoon barbecue. Who says patios are only for summer? This is Canada!
I actually do my homework on the patio because it’s a lot more comfortable than staying indoors. I get to be outdoors!!! Of course this is only when the weather is nice.
We love to eat supper on our deck.
My friend and I visited Puna Cana a few years ago…the resort had GORGEOUS patio furniture everywhere…we spent the trip photographing ourselves, Where’s Waldo’ish, on all the beautiful patio sets…good fun…

The last time we were on the deck we had a barbeque and one of our cats was out on the deck with us. We were eating and talking when suddenly the cat jumps and catches a bird. There was chaos for a few moments the bird survived and we had a lot of laughs upon reflection
I have a girls weekend every year at my parents cabin. Their patio furniture is very old and needless to say one of my friends sat on a chair and it broke! It provided many laughs for us over the weekend!

We have a big patio. When we barbeque dogs and cats from the area come to visit us. And often we are have to look or call to the owners. I gess our backyard has some mistic qualities.
My most memorable patio experience occurred while I was flipping burgers. As I stood there at the barbie, a huge shadow engulfed me. I turned up to the sky expecting to see clouds but instead a humungous bald eagle was circling above. It had a wingspan of at least 6 feet! Suddenly it swooped down. My spatula flew as I ducked for cover! It sailed past barely clearing the fence, chasing after a poor tiny bird. Sure glad it wasn’t me!
I vividly recall the summer of 65; sitting with friends on my parent’s patio. It was warm and balmy and we listened to the hits of the day on a radio. Our final year in high school had just ended and we all looked forward to moving on with our lives. It was such a pivotal moment in our lives and we were both sad and happy at the same time.
In my opinion, our patio is the BEST room in our house…we back on to greenspace and can sit and watch eagles and woodpeckers etc. do their thing…magic!
It’s a great place for the kids to have friends over for a meal,much less mess and noise in the house.

we BBq everyday on the patio,,its our little piece of heaven , a few years ago we bought a whole new patio set, used it one day, a big storm blew in , took, the umbrella up up and away, 3 of the chair cushions, and 2 of the chairs,,, now someone has the missing pieces ,,,so we put the 2 chairs and one cushion at the end of the driveway so they could have a matching set,,,we bought a new unbrella , with extra weight, new tie down cushions and heavier chairs,,, lol…
while looking at spring flowers in my grandmother`s garden and indadvertently scaring a bunny out of flowerbed who in turn scared me when he jumped out in front of me and hopped away. Never expected a bunny to be living in city garden especially with all neighbours having dogs. That is some courageous bunny! Good for him and funny thing it was long Easter weekend so made it kind of special the timing. I felt happy to see a real rabbit on that special day.
We love sitting outside on our patio now that our son can walk. He wants to be very independent and being outside is one way he can show his independence. We have no worries with him when we can keep an eye on him in our own backyard.

It was a beautiful sunny day and the BBQ ended. The guests were gone (at least I thought so)and I was sitting on a chair when I heard PLOP. Thank goodness my patio umbrella was still up, because there were two eyes looking at me. Here it was a cat that must have ran up a tree and couldn’t get down. He was really hugging the umbrella. So, I reached for him and took him off and I must say he was one HAPPY CAMPER thereafter!
My most memorable patio experience was a vacation to Salt Spring Island. The cottage was beautiful and the patio was even more spectacular thanks to the gorgeous view of the Ocean. Sipping wine and BBQ never felt SO good!
Last time I was on BBQ tonight I made really good filet mignon steam with veggies wrapped in aluminum. Hum…

My most memorable experience was when my Dad just painted the patio benches and they hadn’t quite dried yet when I decided to sit on one while wearing my lovely white jean shorts. I had lovely brown paint all over my backside!

The last time I was on a patio was at my in-law’s house just last week. It was the first sunny and warm day of Spring and I was ecstatic to be outdoors enjoying a Slurpee and some sweet treats! 🙂
I have a great memory of giving my 14-year-old daughter a birthday party where all of her friends tented in various little tents on our huge patio because of bears being in the area! And, my partner had the “great” idea to pretend to be a bear at night which I was not really keen for! Would have scared them to death…. would have been funny though.
Same story here, a storm broke out table and umbrella, the cats wrecked the chairs. I’m so sad…
I remember as a kid being hung by the feet off my patio. My neighbour was over 6 feet tall and I was about 4 and 1/2 feet. He loved harrassing the girls in the neighbourhood. We were the only house on the block that had an raised patio, so my house was perfect for these kind of hi-jinks.
I was sitting with my grandmother many years ago, and suddenly the patio cloth gave and she fell through with her legs sticking up in the air. We were both laughing so hard that I couldn’t help her get unstuck and up and out of the chair. At least I can say my belated grandmother and I shared the same sense of humour!
I would love to be out on the patio but our bikes take up all of the space. Will have to reorganize storage to fit bikes because this year I would love to enjoy the patio reading a good book!

A TERRIFYING PATIO STORY
It had been raining for days, so I didn’t think we’d be able to have our daughter’s third birthday lunch party out on the patio. But that day it was finally warm and sunny again, so I headed outside with my proud daughter and her six little friends. I sat them all around the table, and then reached over to crank open the patio umbrella. The children all SCREAMED as about 20 BATS immediately flew out. They’d spent those rainy days sleeping in that cozy space under the closed umbrella, which I’d forgotten to tie up when it suddenly started pouring a few days earlier. An unforgettable birthday party for those little girls — and for me!
With summer, comes barbecuing. As would be the case on most summer evenings, I was outside grilling. I quickly realized that I had forgotten some utensils in the house, so I rushed in, sliding open the creen on the patio door. I didn’t close it behind me. Whta was the point, I was going back out moments later. In the time that I fished for the utensils, my Wife happened to walk by the patio door, not knowing that I was in the kitchen, decided that the screen should be closed. Once I had the utensils in hand, I rushed outside. Not knowing that the ccreen was now closed, I not only walked through rhe screen door, I managed to also take the whole unit off the tracks, Fortunately, no steaks were injured.

The last time I was out on the patio I was shovelling snow… But I’m thinking of getting the chairs out and getting them cleaned up for the summer! I love sitting out there watching the birds fly around while I drink my coffee!
The story that comes to mind regarding “patio” is: I designed and did all the work on the landscaping of my backyard (even though I’ve had no training or schooling on landscaping, except for the patio. While at one of the places I went to price materials for the patio, I thought I will ask them how much for them to do it as they offered that service. Well, it was cheaper to have them do it and all the materials than for me to buy everything needed and do it myself so of course I hired them. They did a fantatic job but the day they were to come, it poured rain big time that day and I expected to receive the “rebooking” phone call. But came they did and for most of a day, 2 guys dug and laid the patio, soaked and covered with mud. I kept taking them out water and hot coffee and thought “that is not a job I would want”.
my loving yet jokingly teased and called ‘scrooge’ my economical husband would not buy me a new patio set! one day as we were sitting enjoying the warm sun and the peaceful ambience of our yard, all of a sudden one of the aluminum legs on the chair he was sitting on, finally not being able to take it any more from old age, collapsed and plunk he went down with a thud! though it was awful to see in another sense it was funny and i think he laughed the most! not injured in any way, he said he would finally get me that new patio set, well that was last year and I am still waiting! got to love these well meaning hubbies eh!
I love to be outside and enjoy the sounds of nature. A great cup of coffee and a comfortable chair to relax in make my day.
Last summer my husband decided to lounge on the patio while reading a good book. He fell asleep in the sun with the book on his chest. When he woke up he discovered that his chest was sunburnt, and he had a big white rectangle smack dab in the middle of his chest! I was laughing for days.
We have always bought second hand patio furniture and I would love to win a new set, that would be so awesome. About 5 months ago we purchased again some used patio furnture. We can’t wait to get it set up but you see we live in calgary and our winters are so long. I realized though that we don’t have an umbrella and our backyard faces south, it’s going to be really hot out there when summer comes now we have to look for a free standing umbrella, that is unless I win a new set.
Having a BBQ meal, enjoying the weather, fresh air, good company and the wildlife always makes for a fantastic day!
one of our funniest patio-party nights together with family happened when an out-of-town cousin was visiting,and we were teasing him about a story that we tell people not from the ‘coast’…about how it is always good luck to get a little bird-poop on you as a sort of initiation.
well,wouldn’t you know..as soon as i finished the story,my cousin got hit with a handful-sized spray of ‘luck’-the table went dead quiet,and then we all busted out in laughter! it still brings a smile to my face…
a Christmas memory of sitting out on a freezing, clear December night, on the balcony, watching the lighted carol ships sail by our Dunderave neighbourhood.
About 10 years ago, when our sons were in teens and early 20’s, we returned from a holiday, to sink into our patio set before unpacking. Glancing down at the patio, we discovered a carpet of what turned out to be human hair and globs of kitty litter soaking up some foul substance. Upon closer examination, and after angry questioning of our sons, we discovered that our patio was decorated courtesy of the shaven heads of each rookie on my eldest son’s university soccer team.The kitty litter soaked up evidence of overindulgence of another sort. In his hurry to remove beer cans and pizza boxes, our son had forgotten about further damning evidence on our patio. The soccer team cleanup crew was called out that day by yours truly, armed with brooms and handwritten messages conveying their deepest regret and ernest promises never to repeat such digressions.
I don’t have a funny story or joke to tell; however, the best patio experiences I have had are with my family. What can be more pleasant than sharing a good meal, a social drink, and fond memories with the ones you love. These times, in my opinion, are everlasting.
Last year I got some beautiful grad pictures taken of my daughter on our patio.
Ah Yes, Patio days. I miss them, can’t wait until summer. Patio days for me are all about the BBq and my Family. We all gather and just enjoy each other. The kids are one year older now so they will be able to enjoy it more. We didn’t have rails around our deck for the longest time so I would wheel the kids out in their highchairs to enjoy Patio time with us. (I have twins)I have fond memories of when they were babies and we would do that.

Sitting outside in the early mornings as the sun is starting to rise. Sipping on hot tea and the morning paper on your lap ready to read before everyone starts to get up in about 30 minutes…..me time 🙂

I need a patio set… since moving to our new house 5 years ago, we either have time and no money or money and have no time. So, our yard is still empty.
Sitting on a patio with 2 of my very good friends. It was supposed to be for only a couple drinks, but turned into a fun evening of dinner & drinks with fun stories and good times had by all.
Our patio se is 30 years old I’d say I am ready for a new one. We bought it from a store that was called White Rose.

My favorite patio memory is on our deck last summer we sat out till the wee hours with hot chocolate and baileys and blankets, watching the stars and wishing summer wasn’t coming to an end.
Right now we have one thing in the back yard,dirt. We are just moving in and have to landscape the whole yard and build a deck. This would sure help with our costs. It was a lovely spring afternoon, a Friday afternoon in Calgary to be precise. We had taken the afternoon off from work to enjoy a few drinks while socializing around an outdoor patio downtown. And, as is known to happen here in Calgary, it started to snow! And boy, did it snow!! We ran inside and spent the rest of the day sitting by a fire and keeping warm!
Last spring, just after we brought our patio set out of storage we noticed something strange happening. A large black bird, we thought maybe it was a grackle, was taking an interest in our glass topped octagonal table. It would land on the table every 5 to 10 minutes, perch on the edge with its back facing the centre umbrella pole and then it would relieve itself with a large “bird pie”. It would then fly away, come back in another 5 to 10 minutes and do it again. It didn’t stop until half the day was gone and we had bird droppings decorating our table all around the perimeter. It was an amazing pattern and we tried to look up the reason for this strange behaviour but we were unable to find anything. Once it was all cleaned off the bird did not return.
The last time I was on a patio was when I was in an open house. The house looks alright but the patio set was nice. Needless to say I was sitting there for almost an hour viewing the sunset.
I just moved into my condo and finally need pation furniture. This set is just my style.
Nothing better in life than sitting around with your best friends, and shootiung the breeze. Outside on new furniture woudl give us something to talk about.
Wicker furniture is nice.; I just hope this set is comfy as well.

We have a big deck with no patio furniture – and love to lay around on the deck sipping cold drinks. Due to this, alot of animals don’t even notice we are there. A squirrel came running around the railing and a hawk flew out of the bush and grabbed the poor thing RIGHT IN FRONT OF US. We were slackjawed in shock of watching this happen so close to us.
Our new house has such a beautiful patio and yard that we decided to get married just to have the entire wedding on it. It was small but everyone had a great time. It was fun to see the surprise on guests’ faces when they walked around the house and saw the yard.

We love our minimalist patio furniture but would love the comfort of velago furniture. Our favourite moments come when we are relaxing and watching our bird feeder get attacked by crows, magpies and squirrels. They awkwardly try to reach the food. It is made for woodpeckers and only they have the tail stability to eat the suet. It has made for many spills and flips for our feathered friends.
The most exciting night I had my my patio occured about three years ago. It was a gorgeous summer day but started to cloud over and become very humid later in the day. The rain started lightly and increased very quickly. The next thing we knew, we were in the midst of a violent thunder and lightning storm, sitting right under the umbrella! We were lucky lightning didn’t strike us.
I have an amazing patio but no furniture we cant afford it just yet but last year as i was sitting on the old smelly pleather couch that the last owner left here and a bee flew up my shorts i jumped up ran across the yard and ripped my shorts off to see my 10 year old boy on the ground hysterically laughing at me.
We love spending the evenings of summer on our deck.

Last great patio experience was when my son’s friend on his soccer team’s parents invited us all over to their house and we sat on the patio by the lake. The kids jumped on 2 trampolines and we had a big b-b-q.
My daughter loves to eat outside on a nice evening. We just need new furniture for our growing family!
We recently had our patio built from a neighbour so nothing big happened so far except for a BBQ maybe once. No one really likes going into the patio because my dad picked up a very old plastic patio set from a garage sale… So it would be really nice to get this money to buy us some new patio furniture!!
The only memorable thing about our old deck was all of the stuff the kids used to drop under there by accident.
On a very hot day last summer my mom and I were sitting on the patio. A raccoon came under the fence and walked over to the swimming pool and tried to get down to the water in order to get a drink. It also started to walk towards us. I went in the house to get it a dish of water, but it had ambled off before I returned.

best patio has to be roof top of hotel to montange downtown montreal, done it the past 3 years for the race weekends in Montreal fabulous, pool, view, fun bar.
Love to sit out on the patio but can no longer do it as someone stole our table and chairs last year and we still have not been able to replace them as other bills need to be paid. Would love to win this set and now we have a padlock on our gate

I have horrible patio experience lol our patio floors were rotting and I fell through the boards walking there when making a bbq and the furniture we got was pretty cheap so the umbrellas crank broke off, no more shade…. the chairs got rusty and the table is getting there too so we got a nice ugly table and some cheap folding chairs LOL I really like the comment above about the bird marking territory on a patio table thats pretty cool hope you guys filmed it

Sitting on the patio on hot summer days, enjoying the cold drinks and watching the world pass us by. Hummingbirds and bees, the scent of blooming flowers and freshly cut grass. Simply the best way to relax.
my best memories are nearly always when my friends and I are outdoors, in the summer, and on a patio. I think because we only get a few good months of nice weather, we appreciate it and take advantage of being outdoors any chance we get.
My favorite memories of the cottage are sitting out on the back patio while watching deer running through the yard. My worst memory of the cottage was sitting on the back patio and watching a bear enter the yard. Yikes!
We like to sit around in the morning with our coffees and feed peanuts to the chipmunks. (on old plastic chairs..hehe)
My poor parents had a hard time with me in my teens. On my 18th birthday, however, things were starting to change. I remember sitting out in their garden in England on a balmy evening with the sky all pink and orange. They joined me in a toast with some champagne. It was not only touching that they thought of something so simple but special, but also kind of a special memory as it marked the beginning of a much better relationship with my folks from that point on (having fully shelved the angst and attitude!)
I still think back to that time fondly – ten years on!
My most memorable patio experience is when I woke up the following day of my wedding and my husband had set up a beautiful breakfast! It was so romantic!
We’ll my story wasn’t to funny at the time but I could laugh at it if I won this contest. On Saturday that just past my husband put my beautiful gazebo up and on Sunday Night we had a really bad ice storm and my gazebo collapsed under six inches of ice. I even put pics on my facebook of my demolished Gazebo!
When I was 8 years old we had a huge family party on our back patio.
We served buffet style and everyone rested their plates on their laps as they ate. I decided to back up into what I thought was an empty chair only to suddenly discover that my aunt was sitting there with a plate on her lap full of food. The food ended up all over my behind and let’s just say she had to go up for seconds.
We put a lovely wrought iron fence around our patio and I was quite proud of it. Soon after I was looking after my friend’s Cocker Spaniel while she was away for a week, feeling very happy that he could be out with me and not have to be leashed. I was shocked to see him turn himself sideways and go through the wrought iron bars in the fence! Lucky for me he was cooperative and let me catch him and bring him back in but for a moment I was quite panicked. If anything happened to that dog while in my care my friend would never forgive me.
I enjoy having great barbecues with my family on the patio!

In the summer, my sister and I hook up big speakers and listen to music on the patio and just relax 🙂

I was at my friends for a few drinks on her patio and her boyfriend of 5 years pulled the ” will you marry me ” question! It was the best day ever to see my friends face light up with excitement! She was so excited!

I love to sit on my parents’ patio with an ocean view during my yearly visit to Nova Scotia. We eat dinner as a family, catching up over a meal of lobster and strawberry shortcake and watch the sunset with a soundtrack of the waves rolling against the shore. I am nostalgic just thinking about it.

My most memorable “patio experience” is not a pleasant one, but still pretty memorable! It was a super windy day and my umbrella kept blowing off of our patio table. After putting it back in several times, I got the brilliant idea to hold it down with a base. It seemed to be holding up for a few minutes, but then a strong wind came and it pulled out the glass with the base! Now I have a patio table, with the “table” part.
My best patio experiences was a time when I was over at my cousin’s house. They had a nice barbeque while we lounged on the patio set.
It was so relaxing and so much fun.
Currently, we have no patio set in our backyard. It would be a great addition to the new landscaping we’re getting done.
It hasn’t been warm enough for patio weather here, so I cannot wait til it heats up!
I actually do most of my school work on the patio because it’s a lot more comfortable than being inside in a stuffy room like the school library. Plus, I can grab a beer. The weather has to be good though.

Ahh, summer bliss celebrating brithdays, anniversaries with friends, family, fine food and spirits. I especially recall one anniversary when our kids hosted a fete for us on the deck. They prepared everything, served us then promptly left for the movies…. it was a specail romantic evening!!
One summer we were have a get together with family and hanging out in the backyard. My brother-in-law is a big guy, so naturally we wanted to give him the best chair (and the strongest), well what do you know, he promptly fell to the ground when the leg of the chair broke. The cheaper chairs are still good three years later!

I remember I had to call in sick to work because mt three year old was not feeling well. I decided that I did not want to take a sick day so I decided to work from home. What better idea to work from my laptop on the patio in the backyard. It was a beautiful, sunny, warm day. I can work but enjoy the nice weather at the same time. Still needing to keep my eye on my daughter, I had her sit out with me. She suddenly sat back in the patio chair, put her arms behind her head and said, “Ahhh Mommy, this is the life!!!”
Did my three year just fake me out so she can hang out with me for the day on the patio!”

I love sitting on my patio watching my husband BBQ and not interfering! last time he cooked, he carbonated the asparagus and he plated them and brought them to the table where the rest of the family just went into uncontrolable hysterics! Have you ever seen a burnt asparagus or tasted one? Well we tasted and made him taste and it went into dust once it hit our mouth! A true unforgettable memory!
I’ve had many great times on the patio, whether for a BBQ, relaxing with a good book or just sitting enjoying the company of friends or family. My funniest (perhaps oddest) story I have about patio furniture is when I rented my first place and didn’t own a dining room set… We had a plastic patio table and chairs in our dining room for a couple of years!
I have never had any patio furniture in my life as of yet. We now have a patio deck, but no furniture. Have been sitting on a doorstep the past few years! Would love to finally have some patio furniture!

I live on the 7th floor and would love to sit on my balcony enjoying a coffee and/or some other beverage…. but – I have no furniture out there. I do have a very nice wagon with a wheel missing on there and I do have a folding chair I can take out. But if it’s raining or if I want to be comfortable…. not happening. My most memorable patio experience:
When I was young, my mom (who was then pregnant with my younger brother) and I were sitting out on the deck on a ht sunny day. We were sitting in a cheap fold-up patios sipping Coke’s when suddenly the material over my mom’s chair gave way and she fell through the chair. Unable to get out (because she was so pregnant), we were laughing hysterically!! It took me going to find help to get her out of the chair! Fingers crossed for great outdoor furniture so that this doesn’t happen to me!
I like to sit outside at night and stargaze, or watch for meteorites with my kids.
My fiancée and I just bought our first house together and it has a huge deck! We are so excited to finally be able to entertain outside in the summer!

I was on my patio when i saw this cute little chipmunk come by. He was not afraid. Then I saw him again with regular frequency. I was wondering why there were holes off the side of the patio going in the ground then BAM, it hit me. He was, and still lives under the patio. Chipmunk still says Hi regularly…

Last summer, a group of us were sitting outside, enjoying a BBQ, while my dog did all she could to charm a yummy tidbit or 2 (or 20!) from the hungry humans. After dinner was over, we stayed outside chatting. The poor dog, though, soon became terribly unhappy. Not only was all the food gone, there was no room for her to sit on the furniture.

One of my memorable patio moments was when I had just bought a brand new chair. I set it up and went to sit on it and landed flat on my bum! The darned thing broker right of the box basically. It was hilarious!
I go out on the patio and take my computer with me. It is beautiful on a warm summer’s day with the wind in the trees, the noise of the children playing in the playground, and the occasional passage of one of the neigbours on a stroll or walking the dog. I grab a thermos of coffee and sit and enjoy while I work.

We have some amazing thunderstorms in Canada (especially here in the prairies) and for as long as I can remember, every time one of those beautiful storms lit up the sky, my dad, brother and I would pile on the blankets, get cozy in a patio chair and sit out on the (covered) patio to watch the lightning. Last year, I moved out of my parents house and my dad has been having a harder time adjusting to the “empty nest” life. A couple weeks ago, we were on the brink of another vibrant storm, so I drove over to mom and dad’s house to watch with it with him, just like we used to. It was the best one yet!
I love to be on the patio and take my two cats out with me and they never go off the patio so great for us all!
Years ago my husband won a contest for a Backyard Patio BBQ with the singing group the Wilkinsons and 15 friends. The Wilkinsons sang and were very nice and there was lots of food and a good time was had by all.
Last year I picked up some expensive dining patio furniture after the season at a discounted price. The table was so big it had to be kept outside for the winter. I used a tarp to cover it. Remember, I had not used it once yet.
It was a windy winter day when the table, tarp and all got gusted up and flipped over. I was devastated, the glass table top was surely broken. Remember, I had not used it once yet.
To my surprise the glass was fine. The glass was recessed in wicker just enough to keep it from shattering. I have had many great times with this set. It would look great with the patio set in the contest! 🙂
My favorite patio memory was of my first summer living in New York. I had just arrived and knew no one. I was lucky enough to have access to an incredible patio on the top of my building. I kept seeing a guy on the patio nearby and after a couple of sightings we introduced ourselves across the rooftops over Gramercy Park. We ended up dating and our favorite thing was to hang out on the patio in the evenings under the stars.
I love patios because they offer the outdoors with the great conveniences of home. I don’t need a cottage when there is a patio with bbq, fireplace, good seating, umbrella and great company. Its just the best there is, year after year. i love to work on my computer and take a break on a busy day to have a drink.
After lighting the briquets for the first much anticipated barbeque of the season I stepped indoors momentarily to fetch a cool beverage. When I returned a bear the size of a Volvo was enjoying the nice juicy steak that had been marinating next to the grill. We decided to dine in…

Just moved to a new place with a giant balcony, 22 floors up, overlooking Kelowna and Lake Okanagan. Now we just need some patio furniture!
our patio is our ‘picture window’ to our world. It’s a place of peace and contentment, and relaxation, where my hubby and i and our 2 cats can enjoy mother nature at her finest. Beautiful trees surround our acre, their branches swaying gently in the breeze. Rhododendrons and a magnolia tree provide color on this scene with their beautiful blooms. In the distance we have a small ocean view and watch the cruise ships and assorted boats float by under a clear blue sky. In our yard, there are visiting deer wandering through foraging for food and many birds who entertains us with their songs! Also assorted neighbors’ cats come through to say hello. AND what a joy it is to us to see a mom racoon with her little ones tagging along behind her! Who needs to travel to foreign places when one can enjoy the vistas right from their own patio perch!

My most memorable patio moment happened 2 weeks ago when my youngest teenage son Brandon was running around in the backyard trying to catch 1 of my daughter’s 5 bunnies. As he went to pick it up, he lost his balance and fell on one of the patio chairs, breaking both the front and back legs on the left side of the chair! The way he toppled over and fell to the ground was hilarious. Luckily, he wasn’t hurt, neither was the bunny, Mr. Pancakes!

My family was on the patio when we saw a deer rustle out in the backyard. My father went to grab a camera, everyone was so excited! We had ample time to take photos because for some reason, it stopped momentarily, as if to pose for our camera. Later on, when we uploaded the pictures, we found out why: it had actually stopped to poop in our garden . . nearly all the pictures we had were close ups of its rear fertilizing our plants!
Spring starts for me on the day that my huxband brings the patio furniture out of the garage and sets it up. It’s a great place to start the day with a cup of coffee in hand, watching spring come to my yard.

There are too many wonderful moments out on our patio. We love to entertain in the summer. Friends, family and neighbors always come over for great company, conversation and food. We love it and love them.
Last time we were out on the patio we had a rubber band throwing fight!!! pretty fun!

Our patio set brings back memories of summer with my twin boys when they were little and needed constant supervision. They wore only diapers when it was hot and we had a lot of family get togethers there. Happy memories. The animals tore out our umbrella and swing set shade last year.
My last patio experience wasn’t good. My gazebo that covers the patio collapsed in a rain storm.
It’s time to rebuild and new furniture would be great!
