My favourite memory is when I lived in BC and my brother came from Ontario to go fishing with me in Kal and Okanagan Lake. After we were done we went to grab a bite at the Blue heron in Vernon, BC. Nothing’s better than pulling up your boat to the dock and getting off and experiencing a quaff of beer

The summer patio experience is one of my many favorite things about summer. Add good friends, and food and you have a winning combination for great stories and memories. My most memorable patio experience was when two close friends announced their engagement over dinner.

The only furniture my husband and I have at the moment is that plastic stuff and we had a gathering on summer night last year. Unfortunately, one of my hubby’s heavy friends sat down on the chair and it broke and he fell, food all over him and everyone laughing at him!! He was good about it, but it was sure funny!!

You know you need a new patio set, when your son comes walking home with part of the patio furniture..

I was 14 and dying my hair with Koo-laid with my best friend outside on her patio, when suddenly there was a flash of lightning that made us shriek and run into the house. We watched the awesome storm in the doorway, shivering in excitement. Later that afternoon, after the storm, we saw a tree that had been struck by lightning and had crushed a car.

Mother’s day is always memorable because it is usually the first nice and sunny weekend of the year, and it’s just a great time to celebrate and honor our mother, and enjoy the beautiful weather on our patio

Well this is kinda embarrassing but it happens to most people in some point of their life. Lets make it clear I was NOT inebriated during this. It was dark outside and they had the patio door open but the screen was closed. I wound up walking full force into it and paid for it with a bloody nose. Everyone thought it was hilarious so I just laughed along(in pain). I’m sure it looked hilarious. I did suggest they get a phantom screen since I heard those snap back when someone walks into it.

Haha, yeah, happened to me a couple times. No bloody nose though, so far.

I love the mornings when I can sit on my patio with a cup of coffee and chat with my neighbour who is doing the same thing. The birds are singing, the squirrels are bounding from the fence top to the trees. The sun is shining. It is just the best way to start a day. And then, having friends for dinner on the bbq, and relaxing on the swing as the sun sets is a perfect send off to a perfect day.

My favorite memory on the patio is playing boardgames on the patio table with my friends when I was in elementary school. We’d play in the middle of summer under the giant umbrella. My mom would give us lemonade and it was the greatest!

We had guests for dinner one evening and were having drinks on our deck while my husband was barbecuing. I had prepared the salmon and had put it in a fish basket and apparently I hadn’t secured the clip properly…well, let me just say what happened when my husband flipped the salmon…well, it gives new meaning to the term, “planked salmon” and we ended up having chicken that night!!!

My favorite patio moment was on my 20th wedding anniversary last summer – just my husband and I, a bottle of wine and some take out Indian food. Our patio is our little oasis to appreciate each other and where we are in life.

Two years ago, we decided to installed an “auvent” so we no longer need to use the umbrella. The guys installed them but not in an angle. The next few days, it rained & rained. Hubby refused to retracted it. Heard a loud noise in the middle of the night, the auvent had collapsed. Lucky cause the installation guys didn’t do it right, we have a new one installed correctly without charge.

My most memorable experience was last summer. I decided to paint rocks for the garden and spent most of the summer on the patio doing so. Now I have so many animal rocks all over the place, it is quite funny. I think I got carried away.

My most memorable experience was last summer. I laid new interlock brick on the patio. It was my first time laying these bricks. Hard work, but it looks so nice. Now I need a set of furniture to sit on.

I was at my sisters acreage eating watermelon on her patio while we admired a racoon eating apples on her tree. After 10 minutes of watching this fellow she became aware of how may apples he seemed to be sampling and I laughed as she tried to frighten him out of the tree with a broom.

Our most memorable party was when we had our friends and my husband’s former boss for a visit. We invited a few people over and had a barbecue. After the feed my hubby presented a gift of a ships wheel to Lloyd. He was the best captain my husband had and had left the boat without getting his retirement gift. Lloyd was really surprised and not expecting it at all.

~`~`~`~ Summertime patio season..what could be better than that. On one of our weekly outtings hubby and I headed to our favourite outdoor cafe. After finding a nice shady spot underneath one of the outdoor patio umbrellas we ordered our ice-cold beverages to enjoy on this hot day. While waiting for our drinks to arrive I got up and went to put something in the garbage. After sitting down for awhile, chatting and sipping on my beverage I felt a sharp-like needle pierce my skin underneath my blouse. With a loud piercing shriek I stood up and screamed “oh my goodness” while the outdoor crowd looked on. I felt like someone had stabbed me with a needle that my arm went numb. Little did I know at the time but a small gathering of wasps was milling around the garbage container and one of them had crawled up my sleeve unbeknownst to me till I felt the piercing sting. YES, I would say this was one of my most “memorable” patio experiences but I still enjoyed the day. ~`~`~`~

Nothing beats sitting on your patio late in the evening on a quiet still night while the dogs run in the backyard. The next thing we know there is a skunk next to our deck and the smell…unbelievable. He must have encountered one of the dogs too close and let us know that they were not appreciated near his territory. Dogs went absolutely wild, barking and barking and barking…what a night!

For me my patio is one of enjoyment, not only do I spend time with friends and family enjoying the outdoors but when fall time comes I spend most of my time there harvesting my veggies. I shell peas, husk corn, clean off other root vegetables…I love the outdoors and what better place than sitting on my patio.

We went to Orlando to see Chris Isaak in concert. After the show we went to the patio of the Portofino Hotel in Orlando at Universal. We sat down to have a couple of drinks and the bass player and keyboard player from the band showed up along with the wardrobe lady. All three of them joined us for drinks and swapped stories about their careers. What a great time!
